FindMyEngine Policies & Guidelines
We believe in a simple and transparent process. Here you’ll find everything you need to know about our policies for shipping, returns, and core charges.
Installer & Buyer Responsibility
You and your installer are responsible for a few important things before and after delivery.
Inspect Your Shipment: Please inspect your shipment for damage before signing the delivery receipt. Gently pull back the plastic wrap to check for any issues.
Refuse Damaged Freight: If you find any damage, you can either refuse the freight or make a note of the damage on the delivery receipt. Contact us immediately on the same day and send us photos and documentation. We are not responsible for damage signed for “free and clear.”
Verify Fitment: Your installer must verify the engine’s size and application before they install it. We assume no liability for incorrect applications.
Warranty Void: Tuning devices, programmers, and EGR/DPF/CAT deletes will void your warranty.
Return Policy
We make returns as simple as possible.
Restocking Fee: All returned or canceled orders are subject to a 25% handling and restocking fee.
Shipping Costs: The customer pays all return shipping costs, with a minimum fee of $500.00.
Return Approval: You must get approval from us before you return any item.
Final Sale: All sales are final. We cannot provide warranty benefits if you have an outstanding invoice.
Freight Charges
We offer standard LTL freight for delivery and core pickup within the continental U.S. Please note these additional charges:
Lift-gate: $85.00
Residential Delivery: $100.00
We do not accept anything freight collect.
Core Policy: Your Refund Guide
The core charge is a refundable deposit that ensures your old, reusable engine is returned to us. This helps us keep our prices competitive.
How We Refund Your Core Charge: We refund your core charge when we receive, inspect, and approve your core.
Timeline: You must ship the core back to us within 30 days to receive a refund. The refund process can take up to 30 business days from the date we receive the return. We inspect cores in the order we receive them.
Unacceptable Core Criteria: We will consider your core unacceptable and bill the core charge if it has:
A broken crankshaft, connecting rod, camshaft, or valve.
A visible hole, crack, or break in the block or cylinder head.
Missing parts, or if it is not assembled or cannot rotate 360 degrees.
Important Fees:
Unacceptable Core: We will bill a 50% to 100% core charge.
Core Not Returned: You will be billed a 100% core charge, and your warranty will be void.
Late Return (after 30 days): Your core may be subject to a 50% late fee.
No Refund after 45 days.
How to Return Your Core:
Inspect your core before you send it back to avoid unexpected charges.
Return the core exactly as you received your new engine.
If we shipped the engine in a wooden crate, secure the core back in the crate, screw the top back in place, and attach the return shipping label.
The core charge is your responsibility, as is the crate charge.
Crate Policy
We build custom crates to protect your engine during shipping. We reuse these crates, so we need them back in good condition.
Crate Damage Fee: If your crate is damaged upon its return, we will charge a $250.00 fee.
Tell Us About Damage: If an accident happens, please call us to inform us of the situation. We can then discuss any potential damage charges with you.
Crate Charges:
Wood Crate: $250.00
Plastic Container Crate: $350.00
Metal Crate: $500.00
